The "EATLAB", a mobile street kitchen, puts the topic food into a new spatial perspective. Because of its rolling feet, people can cook with this kitchen anywhere on the streets. Water tanks and gas flames lend to autonomy, modular elements protect it against theft or vandalism. The interconnections that can be attached to the separate parts allow the user to temporarily privatize public space. The interplay between private and public space for people living in big cities provided inspiration for the Normadic kitchen and was tested in 2005 by 20 people for 6 weeks during an architectural festival on the streets of Vienna.
